The Indian Federation of Small and Medium Newspapers popularly known as IFSMN was set up in 1984 and got registered on 29/4/1985 under Societies Registration Act 1860 in Delhi.

IFSMN is a politically non aligned media body representing the interests of small and medium newspapers and Journalists spread all over the country.

We are committed to promote free, fair and impartial journalism.
Towards this end we hold periodic Seminars, meetings and discussions and correspond with authorities concerned.

Governments from time to time have given due consideration to our viewpoints. It was on our demand that the draconian Bill pertaining to amendments in the existing Press and Registration of Books Act empowering local Police to punish Journalists was not proceeded with.
